30 Minutes vs 60 Minutes: How Long Should You Book?

30 Minutes vs 60 Minutes: How Long Should You Book?

It is the most common question first-time guests ask: "how long should the session be?" The honest answer depends on three things — what you need, what you have time for, and how often you come.

Pick 30 minutes if…

You only have one tight area you want worked on (lower back, neck, shoulders). You are coming in on a lunch break or have somewhere to be after. You are doing maintenance — you come in often enough that 30 minutes keeps you in good shape. You are new to massage and want to test the experience first.

Pick 60 minutes if…

You want a whole-body session — back, shoulders, neck, arms, legs, feet. You have not had a massage in a while and feel tense everywhere. You want true relaxation, not just symptom relief. You are booking a couples or special-occasion session. You want to actually fall asleep on the table.

What 30 minutes covers

One area, deeply worked. Or 2 closely-related areas, lightly worked. Examples: just the back; back + shoulders + neck; just the legs; just the head, neck, and shoulders. Not enough time for a true whole-body experience.

What 60 minutes covers

The complete body, with no rushing. Back (10–15 min) → legs (10–15 min) → flip → front of legs → arms and hands → neck → brief scalp finish. Plus enough buffer to spend extra time on whatever needs attention.

Our pricing

$60 for 30 minutes, $80 for 60 minutes. Most guests pick 60 the first time and adjust from there.

When in doubt, go with 60 minutes. You can always come back for shorter sessions once you know what your body responds to.

A real St George example

Here is how it plays out for the guests we see most. A downtown St George office worker comes in on a lunch break, asks for 30 minutes on the neck and shoulders, and is back at a desk within the hour. A guest who just finished a morning hike at Snow Canyon or Pioneer Park comes in for 60 minutes because the whole body — legs, back, shoulders — did the work that day. A Bloomington or Sun River regular who comes every two weeks sticks with 30 minutes because they are maintaining, not recovering.

None of these guests is wrong. The length follows the day, not a rule. If you live in Washington or Santa Clara and the drive over is already 10 to 15 minutes, many guests decide the 60 is worth making the trip count.

How to decide at the front desk

You do not have to choose before you arrive. Walk in, tell the front desk where you are tense and how much time you actually have, and the therapist will tell you honestly whether 30 minutes is enough or whether 60 will serve you better. We would rather you book the right length than the longer one.

What most St George guests actually book

Here is the honest pattern from the front desk. Most first-time guests book 60 minutes because they are not sure what they need yet, and an hour gives the therapist room to find it. After two or three visits, a lot of them settle into a rhythm — a 60-minute reset once a month, with a quick 30-minute session in between when one area flares up. The 30 is not 'half a massage'; it is a targeted tool you use once you know your own body.

It also helps to think in terms of a month rather than a single visit. A monthly 60-minute session is $80. Two 30-minute sessions across the same month is $120 but keeps you ahead of tension if your work is hard on the body. Neither is 'correct' — but framing it monthly makes the 30-versus-60 choice a lot clearer than deciding cold at the door.

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch from 30 to 60 minutes after I arrive?

Yes. We are walk-in, so just tell the front desk. If the therapist's schedule allows it, you can extend on the spot. Pricing stays simple — $60 for 30 minutes, $80 for 60 minutes.

Is 30 minutes enough for a full-body massage?

No. Thirty minutes is best for one focused area such as the lower back, or the neck and shoulders. A true head-to-toe session needs the full 60 minutes so nothing is rushed.

Do you charge more for couples or for deep tissue?

No. It is the same per-person rate — $60 for 30 minutes, $80 for 60 minutes — whatever technique you choose and whether you come alone or with a partner.
